The newly appointed Custos of the Holy Land, Fr. Giovanni Battistelli, entered Jerusalem this evening where he was greeted, as is customary, by the local civil and ecclesiastical authorities. The new Custos will lead the custody for the coming six years. Fr. Battistelli arrived at Jaffa Gate from where he solemnly was led to St. Saviour's Monastery in the Christian Quarter of Jerusalem. A number of friars welcomed their new Minister who addressed all those present with an introductory speach after making the profession of faith and taking the oath in the hands of the Visitator General Fr. Montes.
